I went to a burger spot in Prague and they provided everyone with a pair of rubber gloves, and that allowed me to really grab the burger in a way that could be considered primal and hold all of its contents in place. I didn’t lose my tomato that time, so that was nice. I mean, I don’t like the single use waste, but it was so convenient.
I use toothpicks to make sandwiches at home to keep the slipper stuff in place.
This is why I grew to hate certain breads in sandwiches. Ones like baguettes with thick crust such that when you bite down you don’t initially bite through it, it just presses down and shoots all the ingredients out of the sides. SMH
Yeah. Baguettes and bagels suckkkk if they aren’t super tender. Only been to 1 Bagel shop where they’re soft enough you could eat it like a normal sandwich, and not spill it’s guts everywhere
Since there is a debate on whether or not the image is AI slop, I took it upon myself to use the 9+ year old image posted in the comments to recreate the meme. Congrations Lemmy on crowdsourcing an “AI free” shitpost! We should make this the default response rather than beating up on OPs. Make a fun activity out of a foul.
OP feel free to replace your image with this community sourced one. Make the world a better place, one shitpost at a time.

And you’ve been told multiple times that the image that was posted is definitely an ai upscale of the image you keep posting. So yes. It’s ai. Stop.
Stop trying to move things towards a positive outcome instead of constant negativity? No, I don’t think I will.
EDIT: Also AI upscale is not AI slop. One is done locally on your hardware by using vector logic to increase the resolution of an image. The other is theft of a number of images to “create” a new one while burning gigawatts of electricity. The fact that some marketing dickwad slapped AI on both does not make them the same thing.
Whether upscaling is slop is based on the algorithm.
Asking chatgpt to improve the image is not upscaling but thats definitely what happend here.
There is a whole ass tire in the ai image that is not in the original… because if you know what a car looks like there should not be one there.
The same phenomenon happens with coloring old photos with ai.
What it should do is assign colours to pixels. But every time i see one posted its a colored recreation with details wrongly added.
Stop trying to say things are not ai when, in fact, they are.
Learn the difference between AI slop and AI upscale.
Ai upscale IS ai slop!
Cool cool. So, never play videogames given that upscaling is common. Never use an iPhone or android camera given that the same tech is used AND every image they produced is a composite created by the same vector graphics technology. Got it. 👍
You are correct that it is curious that we live in a society.
One must imagine the tomato, happy.

AI slop
Describes my burger tonight. I gave up after a few bites and used a fork and knife instead.
This being ai slop is also mildly infuriating.
It is not AI. I found the image used in a nine year old YouTube video.

The concept may he similar, but the image you posted is actually generated or enhanced with diffusion based AI. Look at the pattern of the lines, and his right hand.
How about an en”tire” tire appears where it makes no sense for one to be there.
Holy fuck, that’s a cursed hand.
Also, the dot pattern in the ai picture is not consistent. If it were an original manga then the dots in the pattern would be perfectly spaced
The plagiarism bot wasn’t even trying in this one.
I used your screenshot to recreate OP’s image. I think fixing AI slop with human curated shitposts might be a fun way to counter AI slop, rather than beating up on OPs who just want a laugh. Just a fun idea.
It’s not the same image the one in the video is the original, the one above was run through AI look, at the right hand.
Words in title: 1
Words spelled wrongly in title: 1
Wouldn’t it technically be two words spelled wrongly?
True, and:
Words in title: 1
Words spelled wrongly in title: 2
would be funnier :)
That’s why I glue mine to my sandwich.
I started doing this with pizza toppings and yeah it works for lots of other foods too!
AI at it again.
Poorly constructed sandwich. There is a talent to it.
If it’s a sub or something like that, tightly wrap in parchment paper and let it sit for 5-10 minutes or so to let things settle and come together. You will have a much better sandwich eating experience.
If it’s like a hamburger, you probably put too much shit on there. Yes, toppings are nice, but the price you pay for too many is stuff sliding out. Be more selective.
Lastly, if stuff comes out, you probably built it wrong. Tomato goes on burger patty because flats. If you put tomato above ingredientsl like pickles or lettuce, then yeah, it’s gonna want to go diagonal and slide out.
A wise man once said “Tomatoes are disgusting”
Given the quote you were responding to, I totally expected this kind of spike (although in a quick skim I didn’t actually see him using it on a tomato like he usually does)
I’m not a huge fan of tomatoes in isolation, but there are a lot of very popular foods that incorporate tomato. Hamburgers have tomato. Chili has tomato sauce. Pizza has tomato sauce. Pico de gallo—what most people in the US refer to when they say “salsa”—has tomato.
Maybe if he hits the road just right it will fix his right thumb
Get blocked, sloperator.
Shame on you.
It is not AI. I found the image used in a nine year old YouTube video.
Yes it is, it’s a AI plagiarized version!
I’ve seen this sentiment a few times online, so I have to wonder how you all are preparing your tomatoes and the sandwiches that they go in? I just don’t seem to have this problem
Cutting them up wrong? e.g. halved/quartered cherry tomatoes
Is it a stacking order thing? e.g. maybe between slices of Gouda?
Overuse of condiments? e.g. too much mayo/dressing around them
I always season tomato slices before using them, as it’s obviously against the Geneva convention to not, so maybe that’s the extra friction the war criminals are missing?
