For anyone not familiar with the Firefly show, your comment makes very little sense. So I’d just chop in to help.

As a little bonus, did you notice that the AA guns in the very first battle scene were Wayland Yutani branded?

haha yep that message was a more a secret one for my fellow browncoats ;) That opening battle scene blew my mind so much when I first saw it, like the Buffy guy made this? For TV? On a TV budget?!

And for me right now that show is Farscape. I don’t know if you can call it niche, but it certainly is not very well known where I live. And this show is frelling good. I love it! I love the story, I love the actors, I love all the costumes and puppets, the sets, the effects. It is better than most of the dren studios nowadays produce

Came here to mention Farscape! Best space opera ever made. Just ordered the bluray set. My first watch was about 15 years ago on a crappy laptop screen. I’ve heard the sound quality is improved drastically, even if the image quality not so much, it being an upscale rather than native 1080p

I loved farscape when I first watched it on an antenna, later when i watched the last season in a day and a half because netflix claimed they were removing it. I’d like to watch it again soon.

I liked Atlantis. Universe seemed to be barely connected in terms of story. I confess I watched like 2 episodes.

          Atlantis was great.

Universe was amazing, and I’m still mad that they killed it on such a massive cliffhanger. Made me gunshy to this day, I don’t like watching shows until they’ve concluded. I will, but I don’t like it. Much rather find something that’s already wrapped up.

Well they’re literally in another galaxy, and at first they’re stranded there.

It does connect with Earth and SG1 characters guest star revert now and then.

Ofc it’s still not as Earthcentric as SG1 but

I really disliked the first few episodes of Universe. The Battlestar Galactica reboot’s grimdark edge was bleeding in very strongly. The show does mellow out on that as it goes. The basic character friction is still there, but toned way down and characters are usually finding common ground.

And seasons 9 & 10. Should have left it where it ended at the end of season 8.

I chose it as my online username/gamertag like 20years ago. Alan was taken at that time on whatever game I was playing when I picked it.

I tried correcting you by spelling it correctly, but working out the syntax with the asterisks and slashes was huring my brain.

      But yes - great show.

Also the only one where I think every cast change was an improvement.

Trapper was just a clone of Hawk, whereas Honeycut was his own character. Henry was fun, but Potter brought real gravitas and represented a good man who was career Army - which was necessary. Burns had no redeeming characteristics at all, whereas Charles served as an antagonist while still hating the war and being a strong character and excellent surgeon.

And the way they transformed Kilnger from a cheap side gag into a fully-fleshed out character was remarkable.

And the decision not to cast a new regular when Radar left was inspired. We felt that hole the remainder of the series.

If anyone is looking to become obsessed with a niche television show that went off the air years ago about a character that is obsessed with a niche television show that went off the air years ago I cannot even begin to recommend Bojack Horseman enough.

    Back in the nineties I was in a ver-y fa-mous teeee-vee show.

Funny, that actually sounds like it could be a line from the show.

Here’s an actual line: “For a lot of people, life is just one long, hard kick in the urethra. And sometimes, when you get home from a long day of getting kicked in the urethra, you just want to watch a show about good, likable people who love each other. Where, y’know, no matter what happens, at the end of 30 minutes… everything’s gonna turn out okay. Y’know, because in real life… Did I already say the thing about the urethra?”

Man I really need to rewatch it. Haven’t since the last season dropped. There was some really deep insightful shit in there.

My favorite was the “What are yooou doing here?” But he couldn’t get the line right until the end when he said for real to someone. That shit slapped.

I just finished Bojack last week. I watched through season 3 before but dropped Netflix and never got around to finishing it. I basically binged the whole show and as much as I’d hate to give Netflix any money, I’d buy a full series blu-ray in a heartbeat.
