I hesitate to post both of these, because I don’t wanna get into conspiracy stuff. But both are not well known, and I hear a lot of it keeps getting deleted.
EDIT: The first one appears to be quite popular in podcasts and tabloids. So I’ll just say it’s an interesting mystery, where I have no idea what gets deleted and what doesn’t.

Not the Internet but I was taught a lot of bullshit about the native Americans willingly giving up land to the settlers and all that instead of, y’know, the massive attempted genocidal slaughter that took place.
I presume that might be a regional thing, because I was taught in 8th grade US history class about some of the atrocious things we did to the natives. And to a lesser extent about what my state did specifically in the history class for my specific state.
Trail of tears was assigned reading when I went to school. Granted quite a while ago.
Same, this is literally the first I’ve heard about the natives just “giving up and making way” for the Europeans. I recall being taught about the trail of tears and how we forced them off their land by any means necessary. Then again I grew up in a liberal city on the East Coast so my experiences probably aren’t universal.

In my US schools, they taught most of the atrocities. Some of my teachers were Black, I even had teacher who is a Muslim (so its not a Christian-Eurocentric perspective when it comes to World History, Civics and Social Studies)

Bruh, holy shit. I literally can’t find anything that’s not related to a game about that on a DDG search, even switching to different VPN countries. I did find a related MIT project and a single reference to a “still very classified” DOD project from 1958 I found in a buried log website, which pretty much sounds like what you said. Assuming this all isn’t just game lore, wtf??? Not even a wiki page or stub?

LOL pretty much went the same path as you. Tried some other search engines (don’t have a searxng one though). And it’s only that IRC log. So, personally couldn’t find any evidence. But also doesn’t seem that important, since the concept appears to be the most important part.

I can’t help but think of how the original Deus Ex existed in a world where crackpot conspiracy theories like this were just the reality. And this sounds like it would make a great setting itself as some agent works their way through a conspiracy, going on a small world tour of levels in various major powers of the world before finally ending in a boss battle in some hidden hi-tech but occultish basement of the Vatican where we find the Anti-Christ is preparing to unleash whatever high-tech equivalent is for the Mark of the Beast, and it’s our final big job to take him down to stall his coming to power for the next millenia or some nonsense.
Sorry if you take your theories seriously, I just can’t. But I’d bet they’d make a cool story.
