Unless the mole just doesn’t have hair on its face or ass or somewhere, then it’s possible to comb all hairs flat.

That is the case, it has bald patches around its mouth and, uh, hands. I don’t want to look up pictures of mole ass, but I can’t imagine the anus itself is hairy, that would be a biohazard trap in the environment moles live in.

Claims like that and the actions following from them is why I’m currently in litigation with the Dunkin’ franchise of Tightsqueeze, Virginia.

It doesn’t help that they also insist that “mole blood is basically coffee”…

Unless it is either perfectly perpendicular to the skin or is already somehow laying in all directions: There can only be one direction. Given a mole moves in tight spaces backwards and forward, both would make sense.

This is a mathematical problem with no solution, there has to be a cowlick on a sphere. Perhaps the mole avoids this problem by not being a sphere, where there is a possible solution

But it’s not completely covered in fur. A partially hairy sphere doesn’t need a cowlick.

I dont remember learning about moles in math. Chemistry, yes, but I don’t think moles care much about topology.

However, if we assume an ideal mole in empty space with no air resistance, we would see how they have this property: their hair follicles would, in the absence of outside interference, stand straight up. So, its technically more accurate to say that every direction of petting a mole is equally wrong.

Someone else covered it in another reply, but moles have bald areas. Hairy Ball only applies when it’s entirely covered.

Cowlick doesn’t go against what the post is saying

Their hair can lay in any direction at anytime

It’s not saying that you can make their hair all perfect in any direction.

      Quite the opposite:

      1. Sharks don’t have fur
      2. Shark skin is rough is one direction and smooth in the other. This allows them to get friction with the water to drive themselves forward, but the glide through the water for efficient travel.

The idea was copied into competitive swim suits.

Few people have gotten close enough to a shark to pet it. If you could run your hand from a shark’s head to its tail—not that you should—it would feel smooth, almost like suede. Reverse direction and it’s rough like sandpaper. Viewed under a microscope, shark skin is composed of ribbed, dragonesque scales layered over each other like shingles on a roof. These structures, called dermal denticles, are more like teeth than skin
