The White House has quietly told the FBI to halt background checks on dozens of the president's top staffers and has transferred the process to the Pentagon, sources say.

So in other words he has the military more under his control than the fbi?

    That’s terrifying.

from my understanding, the officers loath him, the high ranking generals see him as a useful tool to their career aims, and the rank and file enlisted non combat roles LOVE him as their great destined leader

Over generalization. The military is a microcosm of American society. My whole community is military, and I know officers and enlisted who love him, and others who hate him. The real concern with the military is that he replaced the chief JAGs in each branch.

Guess who decides whether refusing an unlawful order results in prison time or not…

I sure hope the guy Trump picked to lead the FBI tells him how deeply offended he is by this obvious lack of trust.

Even that guy isn’t using the FBI for his own personal security.

White House officials took the unusual step of ordering a stop to the background check investigations after they deemed the process too intrusive, sources said.

The procedure typically involves extensive interviews as well as a review of financial records, foreign contacts, past employment, and any potential security risks.

    Yup.
