Tax exemptions should be treated as cost for the tax payers. News should report on it like “You paid 1.000$ for palantir subsidies this year and 5.000$ for Elon and 20.000$ for iran war”. I think this would wake some people up.
People don’t even connect the fact that they’re supposed to get something in return for their taxes.

I personally dislike the Japanese style because it makes translating such a hassle. For my first instinct is to say, “100-something”, when I see 100万 but in reality, it’s 1 million. Because of the 万, the next big numbers don’t quite match with the western ones. I grew up thinking million was 億, billion was 兆 (I wasn’t a smart boy), only to realize that wasn’t the case much later in life when knowing the difference actually matter in real life.
The inconsistency also bothers me because we never write one million (100万) as 100’0000 when using Arabic numerals. We use 1’000’000.
I don’t think Europe has a common standard.
We write numbers like 5’000’000.00 Switzerland, Germans write 20.000,00 and Italians don’t have any money so they don’t use anything.

Yeah we use the hard delineation point to separate dollars from cents. $54.93 Thus making it clear you changed from one unit to another. Now say it’s stupid that we put the $ in front, because that is dumb when reading it (but I can understand for easy spotting)

Blockbuster folded due to Netflix slowly degrading it then killing altogether with streaming technology. What in your analogy is replacing Palantir? They’re still at the top of their game, and has only gotten more powerful integrating AI/Flock and other technology, plus getting the full support of the authoritarian regime in the US.

Palantir is a company. Companies are exempt from most of the taxation, because company is different entity than physical person.
