Except for else everyone involved. A competent command wouldn’t have started this war.
A commander doesn’t have much choice either way since it’s the political leadership (aka Trump) that starts wars. A competent president would probably not have started this war, but they’d have likely started other wars and ran them competently.
A number of high ranking officers have already resigned

My comment was in response to the “people running the military”.
Which would include the defense secretary, who could have talked Trump out of this war, or found ways to satiate the dementia riddled moron that didn’t involve killing schoolgirls and closing off oil world wide oil deliveries and crashing its economy.
