As to your comment about John Taylor Gatto, he was a New York Educator who among other awards won New York State Teacher of the Year. He wrote several books on the topic of how American schooling is designed to create compliance to authority. Here’s his work titled “Against Schooling” hosted on University of Oregon Library/Faculty Network. He also wrote Dumbing Us Down: The Hidden Curriculum of Compulsory Schooling.
