That makes sense. Small town people need to have no say over issues pertaining to classes of people who are “different” from themselves. They’re too insulated and lack exposure to those who aren’t like them to properly recognize that they’re human beings in all the ways that they’d recognize if they knew someone from said class.
Brief story: decades ago, while I was on excellent drugs at a rave, my homophobia (thanks, Mom!) instantly disappeared when I realized the hilarious gay guy, in a group of us smoking cigarettes, was no different from me. “He just wants to take his drugs and have a good time on Saturday night,” I realized. It’s actually quite sad. We have so many major political issues that needs fixing. Just look at what’s happening in New York after they finally got a decent leader. But leftists are basically choosing to lose and give it all away in the name of defending immigration, which 80% of the population in pretty much any country stands against. Imagine losing so much development because of not choosing your fights properly and basically fucking it all up just to defend someone who ran away from his home

The worst part is since immigrant is such a large group if u choose to defend it by principle u will defend murder, rape violence and so much more. Immigrants doesn’t make the difference between someone trying to escape war and thoses making war trying to escape the consequence of it. The two are the same, immigrants. It s like going to a bbq convention and claiming veganism is the future. U wanna be vegan great. U wanna me to be vegan we have an issue. And it s always threw tax payer money at it and for what ? If your country has strong welfare and redistribution u will get immigration that vampirise thoses ressources at the depend of the ppl. It s just that simple and that s why ppl are against it.
