If the majority of my country wanted the war to end through negotiation and only 24% wanted to keep fighting, I would be fucking pissed if my country started kidnapping people off the street to die on the front line.
Russia has shown it is not willing to negotiate in good faith, every “negotiation” has been for them to keep everything they wanted, stolen from the other country.
