“I turned myself over to my own team who now allow prostitutes and animal rapists in their ranks.”
To be clear, if you told me a decade ago I’d be unironically typing that sentence I would have called the police on you assuming you escaped from an asylum. But here we are.
Prostitutes are cool. Sex work is work.
People that harm, traffic, and steal from prostitutes are the real issue there.
Neat. Keep him in custody this time and let Minnesota have him. If not immediately, then after this case plays out.
I hope they deport him to CECOT
Probably EPCOT.
Could this be a scheme to protect him via double jeopardy?
He’s not being charged for the shooting here, just the lying. I don’t know how they’d swing it as a double jeopardy issue except for the “blatant corruption” play.
Unlike New York, Minnesota can prosecute for the same act as the feds. This wouldn’t implicate state level double jeopardy protections.
Does double jeopardy work differently in different states? That’s quite confusing…
New York specifically has a law barring the state from prosecuting crimes that the Feds have already prosecuted. Other states don’t have that law, so other states could prosecute him at the state level.
New York has some funky double jeopardy rules that are surpringly quite protective of the defendants.
And the feds say “Naughty person, don’t do it again! Now shoo!”
