Ok, fuck car infrastructure, but why are the images in the panels switched/mislabeled? Some Asian joke?

The giant intersection is obv China (looked it up - Guiyang) and the not-that-planned-out is India (Mira-Bhayandar).

The current Indian Prime Minister bootlickers bring up some GDP growth rate numbers and compare them with Pakistan and Bangladesh thus giving a false sense of superiority that India is developing rapidly—I mean yes but only compared to those countries. So the people who still have their brain cells started this meme trend.

In a way you have to appreciate the craftsmanship and ingenuity that goes into a project like that. But the result and the consequences are really a weird thing to be proud off

The engineering is incredible. Imagine if it had been applied to a better purpose.

That’s what fucks me up. Imagine what could’ve been. Same with that stupid line they build in the sand that’s gonna be a data center now apparently.

engineering incredible until it has a slight earthquake, and realize government officials embezzled the money meant for safe infrastructure

But think of the children! How will the poor children get their healthy dose of microplastics into their lungs, if not through breathing in particles from tyre wear?

Unapologetically I love that top image.
You know what I’m gonna do?
I’m gonna get myself a 1967 Cadillac Eldorado convertible
Hot pink with whale skin hubcaps
    And all leather cow interior
And big brown baby seal eyes for head lights (Yeah)
And I’m gonna drive in that baby at 115 miles per hour
    Gettin’ one mile per gallon
Sucking down Quarter Pounder cheeseburgers from McDonald’s
In the old fashioned non-biodegradable styrofoam containers
And when I’m done sucking down those greaseball burgers
I’m gonna wipe my mouth with the American flag
And then I’m gonna toss the styrofoam containers right out the side
And there ain’t a goddamn thing anybody can do about it
You know why? Because we’ve got the bomb, that’s why
Two words: nuclear fucking weapons, okay?

This reminds me of Cities: Skylines. Top picture is when you create spaghetti. Bottom picture is how I started my first map. I had no idea what I was doing and connected a big road directly to the highway at the starting point.

Fuck this, I’d rather see less of this and more pedestrian-friendly infrastructure. Stroads in particular are one of man’s worst inventions IMO.

personally I would rather turn a hour long commute across state lines into a four hour long walk.

think of how thick my calves would be!

Average walking speed is 4km/h. So in four hours, you’d go 16km. If it takes you an hour to go 16km by car, then you’d literally be faster on a bike, because you can go past traffic without stopping

60mph, takes an hour, 60 miles distance.

          that’s around 97km.

I guess my math was wrong, at 4km/h it would take me 24 hours, not 4.

          👍 thanks!

That and I was talking more about infrastructure where you could easily walk to places too instead of having to drive everywhere

maybe where you live. closest train station is an hour away from me.

closest bus stop is an hour away from me

riding a bicycle would make my hour long commute two hours.

if I drove to a bus stop and rode a bus the rest of the way to work it would still take me two hours.

it’s always a black or white solution with you people and you never think of the grey area. dare I say at least 50% of the US population falls into the grey. if a solution fails to accommodate for more than half a population it’s not a solution, it’s just ineffective.

I mean maybe that is some engineering and planning marvel but not the kind that is good for your sanity in the long run. Just saves the day.

Id rather have the cars drive above and have nature in the ground, but I also kinda enjoy being under overpasses so I know I’m weird
