The two agents who fatally shot a man in Minneapolis over the weekend have been placed on administrative leave, the Department of Homeland Security said on Wednesday, as Donald Trump tried to quell the backlash even while immigration raids in the city continued.

The move, which the DHS emphasized is standard protocol when agents are involved in fatal shootings, comes as the president suggested he would “de-escalate” his immigration enforcement crackdown in the state, but without offering details or whether tactics would change.

In Minnesota, meanwhile, it remained unclear whether there had been any substantial restraining of federal actions, despite Trump recently removing the border patrol commander Greg Bovino. Immigration raids have continued, including an incident on Tuesday during which agents tried to enter the consulate of Ecuador without a warrant.

The fallout from the killing of Alex Pretti on Saturday has continued to dog the White House even as Trump travelled to a rally in Iowa to deliver remarks about the economy in the hopes of bolstering Republicans before the midterm elections in November.

If he wants to de-escalate, dismantle ICE, arrest Miller, Noem, Bondi, and all the agents involved in these shootings.

The concept is sound. You get put on paid leave during the investigation. Once you’re found guilty, then the punishment starts.

The actual practice is faulty, because they’re never found guilty, even with overwhelming evidence.

Same as cops. It’s all just one big circle jerk so that us plebs think there will be justice when, in fact, there never will be.

Not just them, their families. We want their families to be exposed to their friends and neighbors as being a household of ICE Apes. They need to be shunned and humiliated publicly, so when the next loser decides to sign up to be a paramilitary predator, his family will forbid it.

Unless they WANT him to go to some other part of the country, for a break from the domestic violence.

Lmfao I’m quite confident he can’t even spell “de-escalate”. Not to mention, de-escalation is completely counter to what his and the regime’s goals are, at large.

He wants to deescalate the media, not the violence. They want MORE violence, they just don’t like the media coverage. The media has a bad attitude.

He repeats things people have said recently. Walz must have said you need to dee-eskalate a few times on the call

He will deescalate because he’s the one that escalated in the first place. Much easier to un-fuck a situation when it’s your penis.

Eh, I think it’s simpler than that. He’s just brazenly lying, and his only actual intention is to shuffle some people around to confuse and/or give (naive) people a semblance of hope, then will continue escalating.

Bingo, he still wants violence so he can impose Martial Law and suspend the Midterms. He’s just taking a moment to let the dust settle a bit, then we’ll be right back to Gestapo tactics.

I mean, nobody actually thinks the situation is going to get better under that Pakled Homan, do they?
