Plenty of UFC fighters have expressed interest in being a part of the planned UFC White House card, but don’t include Brandon Royval’s name on that list.

I don’t give a fuck to fight in front of some fucking billionaires and rich people that could give a shit less about me. Probably throwing parlays. Fuck you guys."

I mean, I appreciate him taking a stand here. But I’m not really sure what he thinks his day job even is? MMA ticket prices for floor seats can be around $1,500, options up into the $10,000 range.

I’d wager the people coming to the fight at the White House wouldn’t even care about the fight. The people paying 1,5k to 10k for a ticket and come to an arena for it do care.

It’s about becoming a background entertainment event for billionaires.

I doubt it. My ex-employer used to have really expensive seats for sport events just to schmooze clients. I wouldn’t be surprised if 99% of those seats are bought by company sales people.

He’s a worker, of course he’s beholden to capitol.

But there’s a difference between a normal fight and something like this. There’s dignity as an athlete competing in a sports league with problems, this would be different

Bad take. Say you are a developer.

You can get paid to build a video hosting platform to entertain the masses, and a company makes a huge amount of money, but you get paid and it’s your job and people like your work.

Or you could get paid to build surveillance software for an authoritarian government.

Both are jobs you could do, but you have a choice to not do one of them.

This is this man’s choice, and it’s a good one. Applaud him.

If you’re going to use the term “slam” anywhere, it seems wasteful to exclude it from a headline about UFC.

I’d pay good money to watch someone fuck that little meat piggy Dana White in front of the White House. You know the yard would stink like poop and prosciutto.
