My father had us driving when we were little by putting us on his lap and ‘driving’ with the wheel while he controlled the speed (we did this in empty parking lots). It was comforting.

I can make a number of things, depending if I have time to thaw chicken or not. Otherwise it’ll be potato curry. With chicken it becomes…chicken curry (with potatoes and onions). Or I could bake some bread? Or we have cold cuts, so sandwiches. Or pasta, we have pasta sauce and noodles somewhere!

Simmer is just below bubbles I was taught! I made chicken stock from bones, used my thermometer that was calibrated so I know was working, also got around 204 and the surface just sort of glistens. No bubbles on the surface though!

Yeah, the longer it takes to cook the more I dislike it even if everyone else is raving. It’s one of the several reasons I like to can things. Canning takes awhile, but then later on I can pop open a jar and my brain has forgotten the exhaustion and only goes “oooo homemade food in seconds!!!”

I can, at the touch of a button, heat the entire home. Most of human history that’s mind boggling. You had to work a lot to heat and cool an area.

I can communicate with anyone, anywhere, even in space is basically real time. Hot damn? Something that could have taken ages until recently!
