Galaxy s5. That phone fell twice in boiling pasta sauce, survived falling in a cement mixer. And managed to not get corrupted by 13 y.o. me rooting a phone for the fist time. No replacements parts other than a new battery. It still fucking runs.
What the fuck, you can’t just drop that lore without explaining it
Basically that phone was a continuous hand me down. My dad, a construction worker, bought it for himself, hence the cement mixer. Then, he managed to get a phone plan with insurance, so if it broke at work he wouldn’t have to pay for another phone. And the s5 got handed over to my mom. Where the pasta sauce happened.
Last. It got handed to me. A wee kid that was starting to dabble into the deeper side of IT. And thats were the rooting came from.
That phone is a trooper. And i genuinely miss when phones were not as fragile as tissue paper.
You should be more careful with your phone.

Another one: An old metal USB stick that stayed on my key chain for 15 years. It went through the washing machine at least once.
It still works, though it is dead slow.
I’ve had one Jansport bag for 18 years, all the way through secondary (high) school, university and many years of work.
I use it for food shopping, travelling etc.
It’s only now starting to form holes, in the last couple of years.
That gray one that has a laptop pocket and the tech slot in the front with headphone access‽ I love my Jansport pack.
I brought my Deuter backpack to a place where people leave old stuff (we’re in Denmark, stuff gets picked up and reused), after 17 years. Same stuff - holes got bigger, so it wasn’t “good’nough” anymore. I was cycling, travelling, going to work, wverything.
I doubt somebody picked it up at this stage.Happy cake day!!
