And it gets better on a second read because you notice how many things that pay off in the Crippled God are set up way back in Gardens of the Moon

I had to read several chapters of the first book twice to really get it. Subsequent books went much more smoothly.
If you want a good fantasy series to read Malazan Book of the Fallen is way better anyway and finished.
And it gets better on a second read because you notice how many things that pay off in the Crippled God are set up way back in Gardens of the Moon
