OpenAI said it’s ending its contract with Cursor, a coding startup recently acquired by SpaceX, because it doesn’t trust an Elon Musk-owned company to comply with its terms of service.
The company said in a statement published on Friday night that it plans to shut off Cursor’s access to OpenAI models on November 12.
OpenAI did not accuse Cursor of violating any terms. It instead pointed to past conduct by another Musk-owned company, Twitter, which Musk bought in 2022 and merged with SpaceX earlier in February.
Guess he found out being violated doesn’t feel nice. (A jab at his apparent molestation of his little sister)
The infighting and imminent downfall of AI clapping companies is so satisfying to watch
Yesss eat each other
Now kiss
Haha I had a cursor rep reach out to me last week with a pitch around their bright future now they’re part of SpaceX.
I replied and told him that in no uncertain terms would I do business with any business that directly benefits a known fascist like Elon Musk.
Really really don’t say this often but Sam Altman has a point here.
My heart goes out to them.
When you’re such a toxic leader that other toxic companies won’t do business with yours
Constantly fucking vendors and partners over is why Musk remains the darling of investors. Capitalism is broken.
He was such a toxic piece of shit, that the other pedophiles wouldn’t even invite him to their pedo island, even after he begged.
Elon did go to Epstein’s pedo parties though. Please don’t propagate the myth that he didn’t, it only serves Elon himself.

…you are becoming the richest one alive in

Twitter, which Musk bought in 2022 and merged with SpaceX earlier in February.
Hold on a second, SpaceX owns X/Twitter??
I thought Elon owned that privately, but the fact that he parasitised his monetary black hole of a purchase onto his most successful company really just shows how fucking stupid Musk actually is.
Though I really shouldn’t be surprised as his other monetary black hole venture, xAI, is also parasitised onto SpaceX.
Yes he used the infinite money glitch to let the
investorssuckers pay for xitterSpaceX is now backstopped by the US taxpayer. It’s just a giant corrupt grift.
He wanted it to be forced as a purchase for all the index funds and passive investors. He knows he couldn’t sell it to willing investors.
Basically everything he owns has been merged into SpaceX this year which was to make everything look profitable or something, I don’t pretend to understand this part of finance.
Twitter/X, xAI/Grok and Cursor are now all part of SpaceX under the SpaceXAI subsidiary.
I don’t pretend to understand this part of finance.
A lot of people access potential profits based upon revenue numbers. So when Musk wraps everything under Starlink, he can inflate the revenue numbers. Still show an overall profitability, and then the PR goes. Starlink’s profit margins will increase by 5% points next year. Which sounds and is impressive, but the overall revenue numbers shown by SpaceX covers a lot of other products.
It basically aims to fool people doing a surface level analysis
Not only that, the reasoning to merge space X with x AI and X is to label space X as an AI company, and thus should have valuation of one.
I just want to point out how ugly is uninspired is the new logo. The old one was supposed to represent the space launches, the new one is like if someone gave the spacex and the anthropic logo to grok and asked a merge
No, you’re right. He has A LOT of failed or failing projects no one talks about, like The Hyperloop.
The Hyperloop completely succeeded at exactly what it was meant to do: delay the California High Speed Rail project for a couple of years to maybe sell a few more Tesla cars.
The Hyperloop is when I realized he was a fraud.
The concept has existed for a century, it is old news, it has never worked, it can never work.
I recently re-read his “paper” on that, and it looks so much dumber now than it did at the time.
I remember watching a weird German guy and his Chinese(?) girlfriend making a video response to a Thunderf00t video about the Hyperloop, and it was like they were in a cult, they kept referring to “The Whitepaper” like it was holy scripture, and could not be wrong, despite evidence to the contrary.
TF is annoying and has gone overboard several times, but his Hyperloop videos are on point.
Boring Company
He has Twitter wrapped up in xAI, which is wrapped up in Space X. Basically buried 3 levels down. It’s not profitable and it’s well hated, so he’s trying to insulate it with companies with more investment / contracts and less public hate.
Whilst doing nothing to address why it’s so hated.
parasitised his monetary black hole of a purchase onto his most successful company really just shows how fucking stupid Musk actually is.
I hate that SpaceX and Twitter are one company now, but I think it was smart of the nazi saluting asshole to wrap the turd that is the husk of Twitter in the otherwise forward progress SpaceX company.
No one (other than other grifters) would be interested in buying into today’s Twitter, but wrapped in SpaceX, lots bought in.
Oh man he bought Cursor I missed that. Boo.
Yes shortly after the IPO, and I think they spend 80% of the money they got from the IPO buying Cursor.
They paid most of that with fake money tied to SpaceX stocks. Still a golden parachute to the founders
What’s a good alternative to cursor?
Anna’s Archive.
your brain and a text editor
Cursor’s biggest advantage is that it has all the code context loaded right up there in the embedded VSCode editor fork. Augment Code has a similar “context engine” built up, but it’s not a full blown editor.
Cursor’s latest plans were bringing it into something closer to what Claude Code or Claude Desktop is doing (Codex has similar tools.) I’m personally ditching it all and doing VSCodium in 1 window and OpenCode on a terminal. After using Cursor for a year (personal projects, not at work), I can say that it was good, but Composer 1 and 2 were absolute shit and I relied on GPT and Claude models. OpenCode + OpenCode Go (GLM, etc) offer a much more affordable alternative.
Thank you
