The loudest people criticizing queer people are always the ones who seem totally unsure of their own supposed straightness, or maybe the ones who consume the lesbian/gay porn. Seems like proving you arent gay requires screaming really loud.
(This is not about anything in this thread that I’ve read specifically, just something I’ve experienced myself)
It’s also really annoying when you point this out and someone comes to champion the good name of all the other queer folk, as if you meant to imply that a person’s queerness, rather than their internal powerstruggle to remain closeted, was the reason for whatever slight they’re performing against the community.
It’s like, no, did you even read what was written? It’s such a weak argument and thought-terminating cliche, and it denies that part of the human condition is that one can try to suppress a part of themselves so ferociously that they externalize it onto everyone else.
