Strikes on Bemani damaged key water reservoir for 20,000 people living in area amid a historic drought in the country

Military strikes that damaged two water storage facilities in southern Iran may constitute a war crime, military and legal experts say, after reviewing media reports and visual evidence of a 10 June strike on Bemani, a small district about 2 miles from the strait of Hormuz.

It’s unclear if the strikes deliberately targeted the district’s water tanks, or if they unintentionally destroyed a key reservoir for about 20,000 people living nearby. But if the tanks were the target, then the legal question becomes critical, Brian Finucane, a former state department lawyer, said. “It’s either a military objective or it’s a civilian object: attacking one is lawful, attacking the other is a war crime,” Finucane said.

That’s the part that pisses me off most. If kamala would’ve won, she’d be better than trump, for sure. But beyond that, this fucker would be rotting in prison right now.

I’ll do you one better: if the natives were able to kill the colonists that “discovered” the new world, we could have avoided the whole genocide and slavery thing.

yeah because genocide and slavery started in 1492?

pfftt hahaha… you ML guys either have tapioca for brains or actively ignore history…

              wait, could it be both?

that said, " if the natives were able to kill the colonists that “discovered” the new world" coulda been cool af. But the Aztecs kinda already had a good grasp on genocide and slavery as their empire was built on outward expansion, acquisition of their neighbors and their property, and they were really into human sacrifice.

but yeah would be awesome to see the cortez and columbus types torn to pieces on the shores…

yeah because genocide and slavery started in 1492?

Genocide and slavery are abstract concepts. In history there are isolated phenomena of genocide and slavery we can pull out and discuss. But there is a single historical process of genocide and slavery that we are literally still participating in and we can generally call that historical process the Western European Empire. The Western European empire as we know it extends back in an unbroken line for at least 600 years and it integrated genocide and slavery into its core process of propagation. At it’s height, the Western European Empire dominated over 80% of the world population. The USA is the helm of the Western European Empire, and we could potentially call it the North Atlantic Empire, because some people get confused by the fact they think the USA is not Western European. Regardless, yes, if the indigenous people literally everywhere were able to send every Western European expedition packing, the world would be in a much better place. If the inhabitants of what we call the Western Hemisphere had done it, the world would be in a better place. But since they didn’t, it is up to all of us to do the work of decolonizing our homes and bringing about an end to this historical process.

Obviously I was talking about the genocide and slavery that America is well known for. I love tapioca!

yeah would be awesome to see the cortez and columbus types torn to pieces on the shores…

Yeah unfortunately they didn’t get the Cook treatment, lol.

Biden’s AG didn’t, and she campaigned exclusively to republicans, no shot she’d appoint an AG who would, for fear of alienating the imaginary moderate republicans.

You do realize Jack Smith put together two bullerproof cases against him and they were both ready to go to court, and the only reason they didn’t was because the Scotus punted until after the election…?

You’re talking federal crimes though. If he didn’t become president again, it wouldn’t be up to the federal government. He had more than enough crimes against states to put him away for life.

I’m so sick of all the conditional language that lets trump continue to be a piece of shit that should have been imprisoned decades ago for rapes and tax dodging among other crimes or shot for war crimes today.

The crazier thing is that all these news organizations have lawyers on retainers and still they don’t use them. Call it a war crime, put your lawyers to work. A bunch of fucking cowards the lot of them.

Then you have “entertainment news” out there calling Obama a muslim born in Kenya for a decade. The world is upside down.
