Red bean paste has always been a dessert item in East Asia. In fact, red beans in general. I think they get simmered in sugarcane juice or something similar.
You haven’t had boba until you’ve tried beans in your milk tea.
I had cheesecake with a layer of caviar on it once from a sushi restaurant. It was sooooo good. Nice salty layer on top of cheesecake is good when done well.
This might actually be good as hell since it’s Bush’s, which is sweet not savory.
I mean if we’re putting miso and red bean paste in desserts these days, why not?
