We’ve tried fox urine. Wolf urine. Moose urine. Getting cat hair and leaving it all around the attic. I’ve lost count of all the nonpoison methods we’ve tried. These fuckers are smart, but the are also hungry.

They flee the [agricultural product] fields when the farmers hire a plane to spray for probably everything. Then they don’t leave unless we kill them all. When there’s poison out we keep an eye out for dead rodents to remove the carcasses, since I hear some of those poisons can stay in the environment for like 60 years and I’m putting them outside the environment dammit.

We also tried predator scents. You could get just the essential oil, it’s pretty cheap, and put a little bit where they are getting in the house.

If you are rural, it might be why nothing other than poison is working. Deterrents only work if they have somewhere else to go. If your house is surrounded by yummy food fields, yeah you’re the best place to sleep. That sucks, thank you for removing the dead ones, and not using glue traps.
