Statistically its highly unlikely we’re the only intelligent life in the universe. He believes the numbers.

But has any intelligent life visited Earth? Obama doesn’t know, but there are no aliens at Area 51.

    You can’t classify a non-fact.

    Trump huffs martian paint!

There are a billion stars in our galaxy.

There are between 100 billion and 2 trillion galaxies in the observable universe.

That’s roughly 10^24 stars, each of which might have (at some point in time) contained life on one of their many planets. Even if our Earth is a one in a trillion statistical anomaly, that still leaves like a billion or so Earths that could have life. Whether they are intelligent and whether they achieved intelligence at the same time as us is a whole different story.

Like you said: that doesn’t mean they’ve visited us.

Is it that unlikely? The universe isn’t just really big it’s also fucking old. We might have missed the party or we might be the first. I’d be hard pressed to put a statistical number on that.
