A-d-v-e-n-t-u-r-e suuure is a funny way to spell “self torture guaranteed to end in death”.
Is this a thing here? !remindme 6 months “He’s @#%^ing dead”
Deep. Vein. Thrombosis.
Having faced Atlantic swell in a frigate, I would not want to do this.
He crossing the Atlantic in a 3D printing benchy.
This seems suicidal
I’ve sailed the Atlantic many times. The swell can be huge. I was in a 144m long navy frigate and everyone was seasick when we had 14m high waves. Everything broke. We could only go straight into the direction of the swell, otherwise we would capsize.
Best of luck dude, I hope you have better weather. But you’re stupid AF.
People have rowed across it so I’m not surprised if he makes it but I’m also not surprised if he dies
People crossing the atlantic in small vessels only became impressive to me once I crossed the atlantic in (at the time) the biggest vessel in the world.
There’s a “yo momma” joke in here but I’m still too groggy to make it happen. I’m tagging someone else in.
You sailed on the Seawise Giant?
I accidentally a word in there. It was the Pride of America; the biggest cruise vessel at the time I was on it. But they (NCL) already had an even bigger ship to be built in the coming years at the time, too.
The worst pollutors of the seas. Running on thick oil slurry. Next time take a plane to have a significantly smaller impact. Cruise ships really are the worst of the worst.
I accidentally a word in there.
Forgot forgot :)
Biiiiig whooosh for me 🙈
I’ll spend the rest of the evening in shame.
Nah, easy mistake if you aren’t familiar with the meme ;)
That sounds incredibly boring and dangerous at the same time
“Raw dogging” transatlantic naval voyage

It’s the “adventure of a lifetime.”
So is jumping off a bridge.
Well we all have to go sometime, this seems like an epic way to die.
Sort of like horses, the size of a boat is inversely proportional to the importance of the occupant.

This adds a lot of detail: https://www.pbo.co.uk/boats/the-worlds-smallest-boat-how-andrew-bedwell-built-his-100cm-boat-to-sail-across-the-atlantic-101664 . I can’t help but wonder about the lavatory situation, which isn’t discussed.
On the open ocean you poop overboard. The US requires holding tanks within coastal waters, but most cruisers ignore it.
The initial post has an Instagram video with him answering that very question. He can stand in the vessel and the side height is specifically just short enough to let him pee over it, or sit on it and poop overboard. For pooping he has a tow-rag…a rag that he wipes with and then throws it into the water. It is attached to the boat and towed along to get clean.
Has he considered that when you sit on the side of a boat that small, it tends to capsize?
I’m sure he and the engineer he hired who specializes in small vessels didn’t consider this at all
Chumming the water behind him with shit.
Fishermen call the ocean “The Chuck” for a reason.
Anything to get away from ppl, I get it.
(Not sure those two panels can power a gaming PC, but perhaps it’s a handheld.)
You don’t need more than a micro game boy advanced
3 foot boat smaller than airplane seat
Airplane seats are bigger than 3 feet? Are they going by First-Class seats?
Can’t even lay flat to sleep or rest. That would be a non-starter for me.
Right? Have you ever been on an 8-hour flight? Now imagine that for months, and add seasickness…
Exactly. Hell no.

Stolen idea…

This sounds like a medieval method of execution
Seems more ancient or classical to me. “You’re no longer allowed here, we’ll give you a small chance at survival, but you’re leaving”
The Boat
