While preliminary reports of the NFL show’s ratings indicate Bad Bunny drew the most live viewers of any Super Bowl halftime show in history, according to CBS News, with over 135 million, Turning Points USA, the late Charlie Kirk’s organization, celebrated just 6 million viewers across its various channels on Sunday night.
Honestly, I think the Daily Beast is demonstrating how it doesn’t think strategically about what stories to post, just to get clicks.
There’s no reason to legitimize the conservative “counter” to halftime with this comparison. It’s the same thing that Fox News did to legitimize wacko conservative beliefs starting in the 90s. Presenting fringe elements directly in comparison to legitimate ones only bleeds legitimacy onto the fringe.
