Maher Tarabishi’s family had hoped he could be present to say his final goodbyes to his son, Wael.

Maher, Wael’s primary caretaker, has been in federal detainment since October, separating him from his son as he battled severe health complications from a serious and rare inherited disorder.

But despite the family’s public pleas for Maher’s temporary release, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials denied their request, his attorney said

Seems pretty clear to me that my country is no longer a beacon of freedom or justice. 2nd amendment resolutions are starting to look necessary.

We will know in November… Or earlier if elections are canceled as I expect.

Or even “family values” for that matter. How the hell can you claim to be focused on families while doing shit like this.

The son had only known his father as his care taker for his entire life. The administration who claims they’re locking up “the worst of the worst,” had to detain a father (during what he thought would be another normal immigration check in just like he had been complying with for the past 20+ years) who had devoted himself to caring for his son.

The son’s condition began to decline almost as soon as his father was detained because nobody else really understood how to care for him. His dying wish was to see his father one last time, and not only did the family first administration deny him that wish, they wouldn’t even allow the father to be temporarily released to attend his funeral.

With the way our election system works, not voting for Harris was the same as voting for Trump.

Well, I guess I should’ve said I voted as progressive as possible within the confines of our election system. Doesn’t roll off the tongue quite as well haha.

Ranked choice elections are, like, right there. Frustrating that we can’t have them.

Does that mean not voting for Trump was the same as voting for Harris?

So if I voted for neither, I voted for both?

            Infinite vote glitch!

Holocaust Harris didn’t deserve to win either, with promising “no deviation” from Biden’s genocidal policies and “the most lethal military in the history of the world.” Stop licking the boot just because it’s blue. Stop voting for genocide to protect your own privileged domestic comfort.

Also, I know Blue MAGA doesn’t care about math any more than they care about any other type of factual information, but Holocaust Harris still would’ve lost if she received literally every single vote cast for every single non-Trump candidate - even including Libertarians, who probably would’ve voted Trump in case of a binary choice.

She lost because she was a shit candidate, openly genocidal, couldn’t form a coherent thought, and offered no meaningful vision of the future to the constituency.

Your attacks on Harris’ character with no factual explanation is ludicrous. As for an inability to form a coherent thought, I distinctly remember her laying out clearly, concisely, and publicly several concrete policies with high level actions to reach the goals both in speeches and in debates. In fact, I heard criticism of her because she was too “intellectual” or detailed. Trump, on the other hand constantly rambles, goes off topic, uses words incorrectly and makes up whole new words. Your assertions are laughable on the surface.

You can disagree with her approach to policy, but attacking her personally in such a virulent fashion only shows you have no counter argument to her positions and are attacking her because she’s not in your “tribe”. In fact, your use of vicious nicknames gives a very strong impression that you are very much a Trump/MAGA partisan. Those people are well known to lack any kind of critical thinking and totally reject any factual information that counters their world view.

brother the factual explanation is the United Nations determinations that the Zionazi entity is guilty of genocide, which she aided as VP and promised no deviation from in her… CBS? CNN? idk, one interview. You can google it if you want, I don’t care that much about convincing you.

didnt read whatever else you said because nothing else matters except the fact that she is a genocidaire

Ok. Trump isn’t either. He wants to be, but he isn’t - still mostly obeying the courts for now, even if he drags his feet a bit sometimes.

Would she have been as bad domestically? Probably not, but there’s danger in that too - allowing liberals to overlook the heinous crimes of the American empire, as so many did during Biden’s presidency, because their own privileged comfort was never at risk. Only the lives of thousands of brown people overseas and well, that’s just the cost of ““democracy””, isn’t it?

Anyway, as I said, she still would’ve lost even if she secured every single third-party vote, so you’re yelling into a quantifiable abyss here. She was a shit candidate and will be a shit candidate still if she runs again, just like Hillary Clinton.

By voting for neither you said you were fine with everything Trump and project 2025 promised.

Life doesn’t always give you perfect options, but in this case one was significantly worse than the other.

Now instead of getting 4 years to regroup and push progressivism, we get an unknown number of years of fascism.

And all of that is completely ignoring Harris’s voting history, which was the closest to Sanders of the other senators, and the fact that as VP she pushed for an official investigation into Israel so they could bypass the law forcing them to provide arms.

No, by voting for neither I voted for nothing Trump and Project 2025 promised. I also was not willing to greenlight genocide of tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of human beings to protect my own comfort by voting for Holocaust Harris.

I disagree that one was worse than the other. Both are entities managed by genocidal monsters and pedophiles. The person who genocides 40,000 people instead of 80,000, or preys on children instead of babies, isn’t “the lesser evil”, they’re both just fucking abhorrently evil.

Now instead of getting 4 years to regroup and push progressivism

Right, because that worked so well with the DNC rigging primaries against Bernie Sanders (who is already a compromise insofar as he’s a liberal Zionist), Biden praising the police sent to beat nonviolent student protestors at UCLA, promising “no red lines” for the Zionazi entity, Harris campaigning with relative of infamous war criminal and architect of the so-called "“War on Terror” Dick Cheney, and pledging the “most lethal military in the history of the world”. I mean for fuck’s sake, Trump even pursued cannabis rescheduling before the Dems did!

They didn’t codify abortion protections during Obama’s presidency when they had a supermajority. They were too busy conducting illegal drone strikes in Yemen.

Aside from identity politics, what examples can you name of instances where anyone successfully pushes the Dems to progressivism within the last 2 Democrat administrations? Because all I can remember is Obama promising “change” and then bragging about how unexpectedly good he was at killing people, and I remember Biden promising “nothing will fundamentally change” to a room full of wealthy campaign donors before he became complicit in the modern-day holocaust… not to mention ‘ending’ the pandemic when it very much was not over, which is a form of eugenics, which is not generally considered a progressive value. At least not where I’m from.

as VP she pushed for an official investigation into Israel so they could bypass the law forcing them to provide arms.

                ok

and what happened as a result of that?

Nothing? Yes, Democrats are excellent actors in our democracy theater routine, at least until recently.

You really don’t have any comprehension of the concept of prioritization, do you?

By abstaining all you did is greenlight a genocide in your own damn country. There was no option that resulted in the US not funding Israel. It was an issue that was irrelevant to the election.

You’re complicit in everything Trump does because you did nothing to stop him. All that’s required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.

So, by your statement, you believe all Americans voted for Trump twice. Another person unwilling to think before writing and also full of blind hate, I presume? I’m only guessing since those two sentences are my only insight into your personality. There’s actually growing evidence that someone (cough ELON cough) hacked the election counting machines in several states and altered the votes. Obviously, until the evidence is presented and verified it can’t be assumed correct, but Trump himself alluded to Elon’s help in Pennsylvania during a post-victory speech.

Given the current ‘success’ of protests against Trump Inc. I highly doubt there will be a point in the near future were enough Americans can be mobilized to actually achieve something even if the elections are skipped… they’ll come for the active opposition leads (identifiable by the stock pile of data they process) first framing them as terrorists. The remains will have to wait till this admin as inevitably turned the whole country so shitty a majority is actually ready to leave their comfort zone.

Currently protest are as effective as ‘strongly worded letters’ as both rely on the addressee to actually give a fuck about the sender.

I know I’m being pessimistic here, and God knows I hope I’m wrong… but the last few months, watching the “land of the free, home of the brave” turn into a hyper-corrupt dictatorship without any significant resistance, have made me very sober.

Freedom is something that is rarely thought about, but it’s deeply missed as soon as it’s gone, and by then it’s too late.
