Edit to add my opinion so I’m not just replying “I agree” to 90% of comments. I think it should be legal, properly regulated, taxed and viewed as a profession. I haven’t personally engaged in it but I have no moral objection to it. I do hate the common sentiment that it was the individual’s “only option” though.

    I wouldn’t fuck with it personally, but I don’t judge those who do. Well, no, that’s not true, actually. I do kind of judge people who participate in it, whether providing or purchasing. That’s probably uncouth of me, but what can I say? I’m a product of my society and my time. I do, however, think it’s totally fine, if practiced correctly.

    Which is why I’m all for it being legal. If it’s legal, it can be much more reliably regulated, which is safer for all involved. We should not be banning human vices—that just creates crime. Instead, we should try to manage it and make it as safe as possible, whether you’re talking about sex, drugs, gambling, whatever.
