One is objectively demonstrably worse. I’m not going to an anti circumcision post and saying “hey what about female genital mutilation” as is happening here. For what goal I’d add? I can’t see an objective aside from attempting to diminish the suffering being discussed. Obscuring the issue by conflating it with a completely different thing is wrong.

If you think circumcision is tantamount to cutting a clit off, cauterizing large sections, or sewing the vagina semi-permanently shut. This is all typically as young girls not as babies. The trauma experienced cements the way they see the world values them. CIRCUMCISION IS BAD, IT IS NOT THE SAME THING.

I do outreach stuff sometimes through my mother’s social work company randomly. Thats usually a few times a year and consists of handing out state/fed benefits type literature to people outside grocery stores. I usually spend a day or two a month at a dog shelter I really like too, two of my dogs have come from there and I just really believe in the way they operate.

I get coffee with my mom once or twice a month. Usually we just swap stories about our jobs, home life, what her next vacation is going to be (61 so shes been doing 2 or 3 vacation type trips a year), what we’ve been cooking lately, what we plan to cook next, how my animals are, try to convince her to get a dog/cat again, how my girl is, if we’ve read/watched anything mutually interesting lately, what my sister is up to, our mutual disdain for my father, her latest volunteer/community project not attached to her job (big wig social worker), sometimes I try to explain niche internet thing and since we agree on most things politically we talk about current events.

I’m very lucky in that I have a good job, home, land and some strong skills. So, most of my model isn’t realistic for the majority. But anyway, I operate a small farm as a kind of side business/learning experiment to raise livestock/honey/eggs/ grow crops. As an mechanical/stationary engineer I’ve also set up a good failsafe system of temporary generators assuming my solar setup is damaged or loses functionalality. As well as plenty of resources I’ll need assuming I cant get power regardless (alt light sources, hard-core cold gear, water collection and purification, ect) I’m trained with firearms but hope I’ll never have to use them outside the range. I do a good bit of canning and live essentially out in the woods with no neighbors for about a mile in any direction. I have accumulated tools that can handle most projects that may come up (maintenence is not pretty but unbelievably important). Again i recognize my situation isn’t realistic for the majority. That said, anyone in any situation can learn basic skills like canning, cooking, sewing, self defense (armed or not) and basic structure maintenance.

In a power plant when looking at your system (various breakers, busses, transformers ect) red is closed (on) and green is open (off). At least in my power plant in the US.

I literally say that circumcision is bad but a completely different issue. You’re no better than someone screaming “men get raped too” when discussing the sexual assault cases of women. Its a separate thing completely and you trying to crowbar it into this conversation just shows you want to discredit the current topic. Shameful behavior.
