Don’t worry, your mom gushed like Old Faithful when you were conceived. Your dad’s long-stroke game was on-point that night. You can rest easy, she was thoroughly satisfied.

It’s a shame she’s losing her marbles & can’t remember shit, or I’d confirm that with her. It’d make me feel so much better about myself.

No worries, it happens. She’s a good person at her core, but let’s just say she was rarely “mother of the year” material - so we were never all that close, despite the fact I was highly dependent upon her for guidance and purpose (which I never really got). In some ways it’s excusable (single mother challenges & all that), but there were definitely other aspects that could and should have been… better.

Now I’ll sit with her for an hour and she’ll ask the same questions around five times in that time span - conversations don’t get very deep. There are many questions I had over the years that for whatever reason she just would not answer or address in any way, so I was hoping it was a “she’s just not ready yet” thing & I’d find out eventually. I’ve had to hang up hopes of that ever happening now. sigh
