The only advice I have, as a non-therapist, is the same I’ve said to many in your shoes…

If you go now, you will miss the party. It will be a worldwide party, with fireworks, etc, when Trump passes.

The memes will also be amazing for weeks.

You don’t want to miss the party!

If you commit suicide right now, you are letting them get the last laugh.

Good, great, your disappearance has harmed those close to you because you allowed an american dictator get to you by his actions.

This is why I do not wrap myself tightly with political news and news in general.

Besides, I would rather someone attempt to stop this psychopath Luigi-style than just offing themselves because of this. You would be remembered as a hero.

What’s the point into committing suicide? You will not see anymore how fucked up are the things but the things will still be exactly the same and your loved ones(if you have any) will be still in this fucked up world and you will not be able to help them, at the end is just pointless, also you can’t change it, the best IMHO is just accept there are bigger things which you can’t change and you just have to accept it and focus on improve yourself and maybe the life of your loved ones but mainly yourself.

So you admit you don’t understand the situation, but you’ve got advice anyway? Super typical.

Suicidal thoughts in response to this news is really concerning. From what I understand, you aren’t being personally affected by this news. Go take care of yourself. Touch grass or do whatever you need to do.

I think it will help to have a broader perspective. The US spends over $1 trillion each year on violence. When the bombs stop, then profits drop, and this is not acceptable to the capitalist class. When we stopped spending $60bln in Afghanistan, we instantly started spending $60bln in Ukraine. Now Ukraine is winding down, we will spend it on Venezuela. After that, Panama? Greenland? Cuba? Mexico? This cycle will continue until the military industrial complex is dismantled. That is unlikely to happen in our lifetimes.

You are on the ethically correct side, and that matters. I find inspiration in the many generations of people who fought against slavery in the US. So many people, so many generations fought to end slavery, and most did not live to see the successful end. We must continue to fight, even if we do not see success in our lifetimes, we lay the groundwork for future generation’s success. We owe it to them.

And if you do choose to end yourself, I respect your bodily autonomy, but please make sure you are of sound mind when you make that very serious decision. And consider following in the holy footsteps of Saint Luigi of Baltimore.

A fundamental choice we get is when to stop playing the game. Fuck moral panic. A mature person can choose for themselves as a mater of bodily autonomy. Of course it’s not always a good choice, and there are consequences, but sovereignty of the soul is a hill I’ll die on. Heh.

Why the fuck are you suicidal if you’re in the US? You’re not the ones being invaded. Talk about making things about yourself. You should be sabotaging your country’s war efforts.

I have only talked to one Venezuelan, she is not going to miss Maduro.

Still something very dubious to do that they did not do because of the plight of the Venezuelan people.

I hope (but don’t really expect) that the Trump admin figured out approximately what will happen after he is gone. A decade of civil war or cartels dividing up the country won’t make anything better.

I’m just sick of all the political junk.

Trumps a dipshit, all politicians are liars. Maduro was a tyrant in a country full of corruption and massive human rights violations. Two wrongs don’t make right but at the same time doing nothing isn’t right either.

Edmund Burke: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

“Doing nothing isn’t right either” aka, you are cool with trump kidnapping world leaders he doesn’t like and bombing world capitals without any congressional approval/oversight?

Yeah, fuck this comment so hard. Trump’s more of a tyrant than maduro is: he’s a convicted felon and literal pedophile, so what gives him the right to invade another country?

This shit makes my blood boil. I am giving NO ROOM to any jerk giving trump a pass to shit on international law and the Constitution.
