These people honestly sound a little out of touch to me. I don’t think Trump actually cares about the polls that much.
I think he knows that they have little to no impact on his position but that they do bruise his ego.
He constantly brags about his great polling results, but it has no relationship to the actual data. So he cares about the perception that he’s got universal approval. I think Trump regards facts as things to be worked around with more bullshit.
