    Depends on how “the government” fights, too. Guns don’t do shit against chemical warfare (tear gas etc.) or bombings. IMO, in a modern, developed state an insurgency can’t do shit if the military isn’t at least neutral, or they get support from foreign forces.

        Myanmar is exactly the kind of country that made me specify “modern, developed state”. Their military ain’t shit compared to the US or most european countries.

          So you’re claiming something is impossible when there’s been zero popular revolts against your limited examples, mostly because no one running one has managed to fuck up that badly?

        You seem to have more trust in the Trump government than I do. They will absolutely go for mass civilian casualties if there’s a big insurgency in the US.
