    (about to vent) This is like the idiocracy Wikimedia projects all have, like “oh we can rename you so that people don’t know it was you, we can still see it ourselves tho, also don’t ever ever edit again or we put the name back and mute you for a while” then I am like “yeah sure” and then they did in fact change the name of the account in the logs BUT pressing 2 buttons on it shows the original name AND it now basically just fucking GLOWS among the other names. Like, as if they seriously think one would rather press the same 2 buttons to check for renames on JohnDoe21 rather than on fucking Renamed user 12123738120912469074567097145637089345278901253470986453sfndmmsdfhnlgasmdfhbksfgjdsfd.

    It is constantly blocking proxies, Tor nodes, and a bunch of IP ranges from various list files. It’s actually up. I’ve been fooled into thinking it’s down too. Given your email provider isn’t blocked, you can mail admin at that domain and ask which list it is for you, in my case I was able to trace it all the way back to someone spamming a forum from the address.

    One thing I learned pretty recently is that this “privacy” service actually has a privacy frontend for it: s/c/f (catbox.moe > fatbox.moe) (read only). Example: https://files.fatbox.moe/oiip40.webm

    Made my own in like 2 minutes. Lines not thick enough, I know, not doing that again tho. There’s no detail but it actually hurts to add detail to a tiny icon.

    If you use a feature complete Wayland compositor and compare it to equivalents (RIP velox), then Wayland basically offers more consistent pen and multitouch support and stuff, while being faster.

    There’s no 2D acceleration in Wayland and that’s by design, it’s made for new GPUs that don’t have 2D anyway anymore. Programs either draw pixels or start up 3D.

    XLibre is trying the opposite and is actually merging various 2D drivers for old and niche hardware, like ct65550 as found in the Toshiba Libretto 50ct among others. Most of these originate from distribution forks (NetBSD in this case). T2 Linux also maintains a patch to bring back lots of more ancient 2D drivers that were removed in 2012.

    JS is a programming language that runs from the website on your computer. By “JS scrollbar” it was meant that the scrollbar is generated by the code, as if it was a program.

    CSS is just a sheet of rules on how things should look like, it’s not meant to run programs. This person is pointing out you can just tell the browser to add a scrollbar to something using CSS, without programming.
