They won’t even own their own viewpoints once you’ve gone through the effort of pulling apart the claim and addressing it. They’ll tell you that you’re reading too deep into it, misinterpreting it, all while putting out more nonsense for you to address.

There’s nothing you can do with the average person not being invested enough in politics to inquire further, and the lack of controls on public speakers. Except stoop to their level I suppose.

I don’t believe in any religion, don’t like religion, but I also realize that it’s not the governments place to tell people what they can and can’t believe.

Besides that, given the specifics of this law it’s rather easy to see it’s not even about religion as a whole. It’s just more Islamophobia.

I try to laugh because it helps with how depressing life is, but sometimes I’m just overwhelmed by it all. Sometimes I need to close my eyes and ignore it.

I don’t know about others, but I tend to look at how someone treats others as insight on how they’ll treat me. If someone is openly malicious to other people for such petty reasons then they’ll treat you the same way.

I never understood this specific example. Why are people so obsessed with someone that’s already spoken for? It shows such a lack of respect for boundaries.

I’ve run into the type of guy that thinks it’s alright to harass someone because they’re in a relationship with someone they’re interested in, and what makes me sad is how so many see nothing wrong with it.

I’m not saying or agreeing with the orange man, what he did was wrong. It’s not our place to intervene in other countries, but this is what I’ve heard everywhere.

Therapy exhausts me, and I’d like to be uninvited to these sessions as I don’t have much to add, but seeing posts like this and reading other peoples stories makes me realize that it could absolutely be so much worse.

I’m familiar with a handful of people who have done so, mostly due to the tax burden that this country places on them. The fee is a bit hefty, but it was better than continuing to pay taxes towards a country you don’t even live in.

You ever have an issue with anything and you find the answer on some random reddit discussion that ends up in your search results when you’re looking around?

Discord isn’t really like the older methods of chatting, where people used platforms to chat for the sake of chatting. Entire communities from forums decided to just upend everything and move into discord. Niche software and other files are often shared among discord communities, or assistance for said files and programs is offered only through specific discord communities.

The platform is still better than anything we had back in the day, it’s just that for some reason people have decided that everything needs to be stored in there.

Anyway, I don’t see much changing. People will probably attempt to take this culture onto whatever new platform they move onto.

Yes some of the glasses are supposed to have lights, but if you search online you can find plenty of ways to cover or conceal them.

Also myself and my significant other wear prescription glasses that have a similar shape to these. At what point do we have to start being anxious about people starting to slug anyone wearing glasses out of paranoid concerns for their privacy?

Definitely keep clean and use deo, but I remember the last major XIV convention in NA was so poorly planned out that it had massive lines of people waiting outside in the late July summer heat in Las Vegas. It’s a bit of an unfortunate situation.

This is true, but there’s more to it than that.

Around the time I first joined Lemmy a user on here recommended a book to me titled “How Civil Wars Start: And How to Stop Them.”

I’m oversimplifying the contents, but civil wars tend to be more common in countries that are in a status that is between autocracy and democracy. Overwhelming authoritarianism and overwhelming democracy are stabilizers that make it difficult for infighting that contests the leadership of the country.

There’s a lot of ways to interpret the current atmosphere and where we are on that scale. I don’t feel confident in my ability to judge it.

It won’t stop them. Immigration and customs already had a large amount of unchecked power prior to this administration, but under this administration there isn’t anything they care about. They’ve been murdering people in cold blood across multiple blue states for a while now.

Besides that, if people start panicking and trying this then the necessary venues that people have to go to for their first passport(you have to show up in person for your first passport) could become ICE targets or places they stalk. It’s not exactly uncommon knowledge that conservatives tend to not bother getting passports either.

It’s inevitable. No one should trust the U.S. right now, and countries should be attempting to strengthen relations with each other to deal with the fallout that is bound to occur.

I could believe this. Not saying the men’s are much better as I’d say they’re definitely just as bad, but my wife used to tell me horror stories about the women’s restrooms before she swore off ever using one again outside of emergencies.
