I questioned it a few years back on reddit and was told it’s an old American saying for white people, and its apparently from the sound a whip makes rather than the biscuit.
I don’t get it, crackers are just savoury biscuits?

Okay, but when I see a relatively small box next to a drink, my first thought isn’t “damn, that’s referring to a poor white person”
