So what if John Smith pays an assassin to kill you, and then I donate to John’s GoFundMe to say thanks for getting you killed? Am I responsible then?

how could you be responsible for that? they did it without your knowledge, and without knowing whether anyone would set up or donate to the GoFundMe.

But animal farmers know that people like you will buy meat at the supermarket, so where you say I’m not responsible, you are.

But they’re gambling their livelihoods on the fact that enough people like you will. Their action is contingent upon their beliefs about the future. Your future.

exactly. they’re gambling. I’m not responsible for their decision. there is no conspiracy, as in the case of assassination for hire.

They hire smart people to run the risk reward analysis. If you reduce the payout, they’ll place smaller bets.
