A 27-year-old man was killed Monday after opening fire at a U.S. Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas, authorities said.

Federal agents returned fire at the man, who had an assault rifle and was carrying a utility vest, McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez told reporters Monday morning.

Rodriguez identified the suspect as Ryan Louis Mosqueda.

Law enforcement said they found another rifle and more ammunition. Rodriguez said the man’s motive is currently unknown.

One officer was injured in the shooting. Rodriguez said it was unclear if the injury was from shrapnel or a bullet.

This is sad. It sucks. You want to say that violence isn’t the answer, but it’s easy to see how people hit their breaking point. ICE agents kidnapping people is horrible. McAllen is poor. The people who work in that ICE facility are likely just happy to have a job with benefits that feeds their families.

      Nah. Fuck them.
You don’t say that about the IDF soldiers dropping the bombs on the hospital. “They just wanted to pay their rent - they didn’t ask to kill orphans” Get the fuck outta here.

That’s not just a job though. It’s a Nazi job. You are required to treat people like animals. If you qualify for that job you are disqualified for life.

My dude. We are well past the point where it is ok to say " Im just doing my job" in the midst of fascism. No it is literally not okay to work for ICE (gestapo) and kidnap people, to support your family. Hell no.

“I was just doing my job” didn’t work at Nuremberg, and it shouldn’t work here. That’s now how committing crimes against humanity works.

Every single person working at these places (or involved in the trafficking of people to foreign prisons) needs to be held to account, just like they did with the Nazis.

This is sad. It sucks. You want to say that violence isn’t the answer, but it’s easy to see how people hit their breaking point. Schutzstaffel agents kidnapping people is horrible. Oświęcim is poor. The people who work in that transient worker camp are likely just happy to have a job with benefits that feeds their families.

They serve different strategic functions but they are of very similar ideation. That being racist cruelty, and keeping America white.

People down voted because they said the people working at these facilities are “just doing their job”.

            The McAllen station isn’t ICE,

It is a distinction without a difference at this point.

It’s like insisting that Grand Canyon and Everglades are identical because they’re both governed under the national parks system.

No. It’s like insisting that the SA were just as bad as the SS, even though they’re not identical.

I don’t see this as hive mind, I see it as people rightfully being overwhelmingly against the outright fascist thuggery happening in their own country.

No. I said this is a very poor area and many people are just trying to survive. Many are likely happy to have any job that allows then to support their families. People think it’s only white Republicans doing these jobs. The Rio grande valley is like 85% Latino. As someone else mentioned, border patrol and ice are not the same.

            That is how you sound.
