I was sad when I learned the episodes now available on streaming don’t have the same music - apparently the rights expired and they had to change many/all of the songs.
I only checked one episode and immediately went back to my low-res, offline copy
I still watch from my old DVD rips even though they’re all standard definition because the music is intact (as far as I’ve ever noticed).
Similar happened with the The State but before there was even a DVD release. When the episodes aired their had access to so much music through MTV that it became a big part of the show. It’s not the same without some of it.
The music choices were almost always spot on, exactly matching the tone of the scene
