And right there between Waco, Tyler, and Dallas?! Talk about a part of Texas that LOVES punishing the poor and mentally unstable. It used to make me so sad to drive to visit my siblings at Baylor; there’s this strange cult-vibe you get where people get more holier-than-thou while more openly advocating for killing unhoused people, and cheering when they see someone in tattered clothes getting arrested.

Well, it’s more about the people in charge doing the right thing regarding the police, not about the citizens.
I didn’t even know we had a dedicated police oversight org. I always thought it was just a function of the state troopers.
