It’s the conservative mindset where there is normal (which means the ways they are and see things) opposed to political or ideological. They never consider that their own outlook on the world might be political or ideological. This lack of self-awareness and self-reflection is intrinsic to conservatism. It’s related to how, for them, every problem is someone else’s fault, even as they preach to everyone about personal responsibility. They assume they are personally doing the responsible and right thing all the time, so any difficulty that comes up must be due to someone else being less responsible and doing the wrong thing.
