I think it’s a damning shame that she didn’t receive the help she needed and asked for. I fear that she, like so many others, will simply be labeled a “bad person” and hidden away to save us all the trouble of dealing with the very difficult problems of depression and psychosis, especially the ones that occur when someone is “receiving treatment”. Treatment for a lot of mental health disorders is still pretty shoddy and the effects of the medications we use are hard to predict on the individual level. Very difficult to measure too. I hope that we, humans, can come to find a more serious and empathetic response to people who are dealing with mental health struggles, and maybe find a way to prevent tragedies like this one.
I hope she and those close to her find peace.

I’m suspicious of a lot of the evidence and how it is inconsistent with Patrick’s story.
First off, the confession… That’s what makes a lot of people assume her guilt from the beginning, but was it really a confession? Imagine you wake up in the hospital nearly dead and you can’t remember anything about how you got there. As soon as you wake up the police and your husband tell you that you snapped and killed all your children. You don’t remember anything and your kids are dead. You hate to think you could do something like that, but everyone else in the room is TELLING YOU THAT YOU DID DO IT, and you have no memory otherwise. I don’t think she confessed, I think they told her what their assumption was and she didn’t know enough to disagree with them.
The paragraph above is not evidence that she is innocent, but I wanted to lead with that because it’s the ONLY thing that people reference to prove her guilt. “Why would she admit to it if she didn’t do it?” Well, that’s one reason why, so let’s keep an open mind as we dig deeper.
Lindsey was a nurse with medical training, right? Let’s keep that in mind as we think about this scenario: So, according to the prosecutors, a trained nurse cut her wrists perpendicularly, and when that didn’t kill her, she slit her throat, but again, not enough to kill her, then she took a handful of prescription meds that the cops did not identify or test, and finally she decided to jump out of a second story window. Again, causing more non lethal injuries. Is it really more believable that a nurse trained in the human body and injury would attempt 4 different non-lethal methods of suicide in one night, than somebody else injuring her and trying to make it look like the most common forms of suicide?
Also, Patrick is sus as hell. What kind of person casually sits on the couch waiting for the police after discovering that their family was massacred and then remarries and goes on vacation immediately after they find out that their wife just snapped and killed the kids? Even his own mom thinks he was involved.
The cops also completely botched the investigation. The husband should have been suspect number one, but instead they just took his word of “it was like this when I got here” and they took his word for it and called it case closed.
Even if that’s not enough to place the blame on Patrick, there’s plenty of reasonable doubt.
