With 25th anniversary of the tragic event coming, are there any albums that remind you of the life BEFORE 9/11 happened?

Not music, but the movie Fight Club is very much a pre-9/11 feel… specifically when Tyler is talking about how his generation has ‘no great war or struggle’. That line hit hard the first time I heard it, then after 9/11 it felt very nostalgic of as time when shit wasn’t so crazy.

Flight Club was one of several cubicle movies released that year which was tapping into the underlying rage in what was otherwise an extremely peaceful time in history. It was strange that there was this underlying aggression in a lot of media which hadn’t been there in previous “good times”.

That movie is such a time capsule. Even though it hasn’t aged well due to the pendulum swinging so far the other way in the issues it explored, it has to be appreciated just for being peak “end of the 90s”.
