    There lies the argument of the defense (the mom). This wasn’t a temporary mental case, it was the conclusion of a very long period of mental illness. Having listened to their defense, the system failed her and her family.

      Yes but that’s a specific issue with the defense. Postpartum depression IS by definition a temporary condition, even shorter if treatment is sought, which she didn’t, which leads to culpability.
