    Me too, and the first thought was melting point. But I guess they’d have to be steel to hold the weight they do.

      Remember, appliances are typically made out of the cheapest crap possible. Aluminum costs more than steel.

      Almost all washing machine tubs are enalemed steel or stainless steel.
