That’s weird. In 2025 alone they commissioned more than 50 new coal plants (78GW). At the end of 2025, nearly 300GW coal power capacity was under construction. If you look at any statistic, it’s pretty much shooting up.

Damn 50% is crazy. This is why despite all their work building tons of renewables, China remains a climate villain.
