Stuff is already pretty bad in some places, in the US the Colorado River Basin is in a water crisis already, Lake Mead is getting so low they can’t use it for power generation.

As someone living in a western nation and thus a member of one of the states which holds said monopoly I am not concerned. And still that’s not full societal collapse that’s not even a bump in the road of the human species.
