Shares of SpaceX fell as much as 7% Thursday to $178, leaving the stock trading roughly in line with its volume-weighted average price of just under $180.

Wouldn’t they rather it not surge too much though, since in this case, thats billions that was left on the table.

  I think it’s done so that the price goes up and benefits all the long term share holders.
