The UK Government, for all its faults, is pretty good at publishing contracts it has awarded. That's why I get depressed when I see rage-bait nonsense about how companies have been award "Top Secret" deals. Right now you can go to https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk and search for whichever bête noire has you riled up. You might want to argue that the company is corrupt, incompetent, or …

“UK Government Ends One Of Palantir’s Contracts” would be a more accurate headline

It doesn’t mention NHS in the blog post, so I guess it’s for a different project. I’m still concerned and disappointed that Palantir is in bed with the NHS.

Yeah it links to the contract, it’s housing. Still good, but palantir is run by fascists, so they should especially be kept away from healthcare

It’s a project to find and manage housing for asylum-seekers.

It’s good that Palantir got the boot, but that project is nowhere near as great a threat as Palantir having access to NHS data. It just illustrates the severe need to reform government procurement processes.

If the UK is ending one of the agreements with Palantir, you know it’s way worse than any of us can even imagine.

Yeah, that knowledge could certainly be beneficial to us privacy freaks. I hope it comes to light at some point, though I’m not holding my breath for that outcome.

What does this even mean? According to this article, Palantir was selected for this contract in a rushed, no-bid process several years ago

It means Palentir is too expensive and they’re going to continue creating their own oppressive AI based security police state surveillance system.

They just don’t want to share their data with the US government and pay Palantir’s high cost spy system.
