That is, pardon my language, fucking stupid. We do deserve better from the Democrats, my only stance here is if it keeps someone from voting in the general election they’re cutting off their nose to spite their face.

It is, but it’s not an isolated case. There’s supporters who pretty much hold the Dems on a pedestal and will shout you down to make you not want to vote for them.

Idk what you want from me. I don’t like those people, I’m just really tired of living in fascism and don’t like the idea of revolution. Not accusing you of doing this here but the flip side of this is that people in these discussions tend to treat me like I’m the king of the Democrats and am personally responsible for them running shitty candidates. Unfortunately I’m just some guy who thinks you have to play it as it lies. Like, in the context of a general election, where you actually do have two defined choices, what does “demanding better” actually mean? I can see I’m rambling now so I’m gonna stop. I gotta go to work anyway but this shit is just so frustrating to me.

The issue is that when they’re up for re/election is the best time to actually grill them and hold them to task. They can say all kinds of platitudes and promises in the primaries to win over the party conventions. But we should be criticizing and hold their proverbial feet to the coals even more during that time. Most are just tired of them assuming our vote without doing anything to actually acquire it. There’s no reason or time they shouldn’t be held to task and the argument is commonly stopped on “Well do you want X to win” as it was in the W. Bush days and during Obama’s elections as president. It’s a tactic that works so long and so we should demand something better of them than they’re not as bad during it as well the primaries.
