What useful information do they get from users?

Are they just referring to personal data when you sign up, or are they using deep packet inspection to see where their customers are browsing?

Like all the AI tech bros, Musk believes himself above the law (and unfortunately the current disgusting excuse for an administration is of the same mindset) so that wouldn’t be at all surprising, This is all just a game to them, with conveniently selective application of the rules just part of the fun of having complete disregard for the destruction of other people’s lives.

Assuming everything you visit is https, can they get much more than your DNS lookups? Edit: and of course the server IPs.

Yeah I think it’s pretty much the same as what any other ISP is able to collect. They’re just explicitly writing it down that they will use it for training data.

They hope to learn it to be a better fascist because for some reason trying to make ai smarter has the “sideeffect” of it agreeing with altruistic and woke ideas.

Who knows, and this is why you muddy the waters as best you can with personal data and use a privacy respecting VPN, the whole Vader ‘pray I don’t alter the deal further’ thing is getting real old. Also, opt out is predatory BS (and likely quietly disregarded anyway on the basis we won’t get caught, and if we do the fines are trivial).

Hmm. Managed to get Wireguard to connect to my VPS, but that kills AdGuard. Phone is unusable without AdGuard. WG Tunnel app crashes when opening so guess I’m stuck for now. Need the latter to chain VPN and AdGuard.

There’s options, simplest is Adguard DNS at the VPS. Likely better is Gluetun container + PiHole on your local network or VPS and wireguard your phone in to that (find another app), or you can just hook your phone up to free tier ProtonVPN.
